Desert Safari With Quad Bike Dubai: Combo or Standalone

Compare a desert safari with quad bike in Dubai, priced per person with pickup, against a standalone quad bike ride priced per quad bike plus a transfer.

  • Safari Desert Dubai
In this guide

A desert safari with quad bike in Dubai can be booked two ways at Safari Desert Dubai. The shared "Evening or Morning Desert Safari + 30 Min ATV Quad Bike" combo is priced per person with pickup included. A standalone quad bike ride is priced per quad bike, with no pickup, and you choose the ride length.

Key takeaways

  • The combo is a shared safari with a 30 minute ATV quad bike ride built in, priced per person: Evening + 30 Min ATV is AED 375 per adult (12+) and AED 340 per child (5 to 11); Morning + 30 Min ATV is AED 290 per adult and AED 285 per child.
  • Hotel pickup is included in the combo. It is not included in any standalone quad bike price.
  • A standalone quad bike is priced per quad bike, from the Yamaha Quad Bike 400 CC Single Seater at AED 250 for 30 minutes per quad bike up to the Yamaha Raptor 700 CC at AED 1,550 for 2 hours per quad bike.
  • For a standalone ride you add a transfer: a sharing transfer at AED 175 per person, a private car at AED 450 for 5 to 6, or you drive to the meeting point that is emailed after booking.
  • A plain shared safari without the quad is AED 225 per adult and AED 210 per child in the morning, and AED 240 per adult and AED 225 per child in the evening.
  • Bookings of up to 3 guests carry no cancellation fee 96 hours or more before the tour, and refunds are less a 5% processing fee.

What is the desert safari with quad bike combo?

The combo is a shared Land Cruiser safari with a 30 minute ATV quad bike session added to the day. Safari Desert Dubai runs it in two versions, one in the morning and one in the evening, and both are booked and priced per person with pickup from your hotel included.

You ride in a shared 4x4 with other guests, so the group in your vehicle is not only your party. The quad session is a fixed 30 minutes. You cannot stretch it to an hour inside the combo, and you do not pick the quad model from the full fleet the way you do on a standalone booking. If the quad is the main reason you are going to the desert, keep that limit in mind.

Evening combo

The Evening + 30 Min ATV version builds on the shared evening safari. That safari includes pickup, dune bashing in a 4x4, a short camel ride and a BBQ dinner with belly dance, tanoura and fire shows. The site gives about 5 to 6 hours for the evening safari. The price for the combo is AED 375 per adult (12+) and AED 340 per child (5 to 11).

Full details are on the evening safari with BBQ dinner and 30 min ATV quad bike page.

Morning combo

The Morning + 30 Min ATV version pairs the shared morning safari with the same 30 minute quad session. The morning safari runs in a Land Cruiser 4x4, lasts about four hours and comes with water and soft drinks. It does not include the BBQ dinner or the evening shows. The combo price is AED 290 per adult and AED 285 per child.

See the morning desert safari with Land Cruiser and 30 min ATV quad bike page for the full listing.

How does a standalone quad bike ride work?

A standalone quad bike ride is a self-drive session with an experienced tour guide leading the way. It is booked and priced per quad bike, not per person, and it does not include a safari drive, a camel ride, dinner or pickup.

You choose the bike and the length of the ride. Most Yamaha models can be booked for 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours. The Sport Quad Bike 625 CC and the Yamaha Raptor 700 CC are booked for 1 or 2 hours only.

Rides start on the hour from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM, every day, in the desert outside Dubai. If you book a transfer, it picks you up 1 hour before the start time.

Every standalone buggy and quad tour includes the self-drive tour with the guide, a helmet, goggles and gloves, and refreshments or mineral water. The full list of models is on the quad bike tours page.

Getting there without a combo

This is the part that most changes the plan. No quad bike price includes hotel pickup, so you pick one of three ways to reach the start:

  • A sharing transfer at AED 175 per person, for two or more guests from one pickup point.
  • A private car at AED 450, for 5 to 6 guests.
  • Your own way to the meeting point, which is emailed after booking.

Each of these is a separate line on top of the quad bike price. If you are staying without a car, budget the transfer as its own item rather than assuming the ride covers it.

Price comparison at a glance

The table lists each option with its own price and unit. Prices are not combined here, because each one is booked on its own terms.

Two smaller quads also exist on the standalone side. The Yamaha Quad Bike 90 CC Single Seater is only for children aged 9 to 12 and rides in a fenced area, at AED 150 for 30 minutes, AED 250 for 1 hour and AED 400 for 2 hours per quad bike. The Yamaha Quad Bike 220 CC Single Seater is recommended for ages 14 to 17 and also rides in a fenced area, at AED 200, AED 250 and AED 400 per quad bike for the same lengths.

Which option fits you?

The right choice depends less on the price line and more on what you want the day to be about. Here is how the three routes sort out.

Choose the combo if the safari is the main event

The combo fits travellers who want the classic desert day and see the quad as a highlight rather than the whole point. Pickup is handled, the schedule is set, and you do not have to plan a transfer or pick a bike.

It suits first-time visitors to Dubai, couples who want dinner and shows in the evening, and friends who are happy to share a vehicle with other guests. It is also the simplest booking for anyone without a car, since the transfer is part of the per person price.

Choose a standalone quad if riding is the main event

A standalone quad bike ride fits people who want more seat time or a specific bike. You can ride for 1 or 2 hours, step up to the Yamaha Grizzly Quad Bike, the Sport Quad Bike 625 CC or the Yamaha Raptor 700 CC, and pick a start time that suits you between 5:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

It also fits residents with their own car who can drive to the emailed meeting point, and groups who want to ride together without a safari schedule around them. Two people who want to share one machine can look at the Yamaha Quad Bike 400 CC Double Seater, which is priced per quad bike.

Choose a plain safari if no one wants to ride

If nobody in your group is keen to drive a quad, the plain shared safari covers dune bashing, the Land Cruiser drive and, in the evening, the camel ride, BBQ dinner and shows. You can browse every version on the desert safari tours page, including the private Land Cruiser safaris priced per car.

A private car takes up to 6 guests: AED 799 per car for the private morning safari and AED 1,400 per car for the private evening safari with the BBQ dinner. Those private safaris do not include the 30 minute quad session.

Mixed groups

Groups often split: one person wants an hour on a fast quad, another wants the dinner and shows, and a younger child will not ride at all. In that case it is worth asking the team before you book. Tell them who is riding, their ages and which session suits each person, and they can help you pick between the combo and separate bookings.

Morning or evening combo: which is better?

Both combos include the same 30 minute ATV quad bike session and pickup. The difference is everything around it.

The evening combo is the longer day. You get dune bashing, a short camel ride and a BBQ dinner with belly dance, tanoura and fire shows, and the site gives about 5 to 6 hours for the evening safari. It suits people who want one big outing and a meal in the desert.

The morning combo is shorter and lighter. The morning safari lasts about four hours in a Land Cruiser 4x4 with water and soft drinks, and it leaves the rest of your day free. It suits travellers with plans in the afternoon or evening, and families who prefer an earlier finish.

Price follows the length. Evening + 30 Min ATV is AED 375 per adult and AED 340 per child. Morning + 30 Min ATV is AED 290 per adult and AED 285 per child.

The site names October to March as the best season for the desert. Whichever session you pick, ask about the pickup time for your date when you book.

What is included, and what is not?

Knowing the inclusions avoids surprises on the day.

In the combo

  • Hotel pickup, as part of the per person price.
  • The shared safari: dune bashing in a 4x4, plus a short camel ride and a BBQ dinner with belly dance, tanoura and fire shows on the evening version, or water and soft drinks on the morning version.
  • A 30 minute ATV quad bike session.

In a standalone quad ride

  • A self-drive tour with an experienced tour guide.
  • A helmet, goggles and gloves.
  • Refreshments or mineral water.
  • A safety briefing before the ride.

Not included in a standalone quad ride

  • Hotel pickup. Add a sharing transfer at AED 175 per person or a private car at AED 450, or use the emailed meeting point.
  • Sandboarding. It is a separate extra at AED 50 per person on the activities form.
  • A camel ride. It is a separate extra at AED 150 per person for 20 to 25 minutes.

If dune bashing is new to you, it is the part of the safari where the 4x4 drives over the dunes with you as a passenger. It is included in both versions of the combo and in the plain shared safaris, but not in a standalone quad ride.

Safety briefing, gear and what to wear

Before every quad ride, the guide gives a safety briefing on how to drive the vehicle, how the safety gear works and what to do in an emergency. On the ride, riders keep a safe gap and follow the guide's path. Every rider wears a helmet.

On a standalone ride the helmet, goggles and gloves are part of the booking. On the combo, ask the team about the gear for the 30 minute session when you confirm.

A few practical points help on either route:

  • Wear closed-toe shoes. Sandals and flip-flops are not a good match for a quad.
  • Bring a passport or a national ID.
  • Choose clothing you do not mind getting sandy, and tie back long hair so it stays clear of the helmet strap.
  • Keep phones and loose items zipped away while you ride.

Rides and dune bashing involve bumps and sudden movement. If you are pregnant or have a back, neck or heart condition, check with a doctor and tell the team before booking.

Ages and who rides the quad

Combo prices list adults as 12 and over and children as 5 to 11. That is a price band for the safari, not a statement that every child in that band drives the quad. Confirm with the team, when booking, who in your group will ride during the 30 minute session.

On the standalone side, the facts are specific. The Yamaha Quad Bike 90 CC Single Seater is only for children aged 9 to 12, and the Yamaha Quad Bike 220 CC Single Seater is recommended for ages 14 to 17. Both ride only in a fenced area. For the larger quads, confirm the ages of every rider when you book. If children are coming, mention their ages in your booking message so the team can point you to the right session.

Timing and planning tips

A few habits make the day run smoothly.

  • Book the time first, then the transfer. For a standalone ride, the transfer picks up 1 hour before the start. Pick your start hour, then plan the pickup around it.
  • Count riders, not people. Standalone quads are priced per quad bike. A group of four on single seaters books four quad bikes, while two people sharing a double seater book one.
  • Count people, not riders, on the combo. The combo is per person, so every guest in the safari vehicle is booked, rider or not.
  • Check the transfer rule for sharing. The AED 175 sharing transfer is per person and applies to two or more guests from one pickup point. A larger party may prefer the private car at AED 450 for 5 to 6.
  • Think about the rest of your day. The morning combo leaves the afternoon free. The evening combo fills the late afternoon and evening.
  • Have your ID ready. Bring a passport or a national ID for the ride.

Cancellation and payment

Cancellation terms follow the refund policy. For bookings of up to 3 guests, there is no cancellation fee 96 hours or more before the tour. From 24 to 96 hours before, a 50% fee applies, and under 24 hours or for a no-show the fee is 100%. Refunds are less a 5% processing fee.

Bookings of 4 or more guests follow different terms, so read the refund policy before booking a group. Rescheduling is free, subject to availability. Cancellations and changes are made by email only.

If Safari Desert Dubai cancels a tour, for example for weather, you choose between a refund less the 5% fee or a free new date. Once a tour has started, it is not refunded.

Payment is by Visa or Mastercard in AED, in full online when booking, with no card fee. The booking confirmation arrives by email within 48 hours of payment.

Choosing between them

The combo is the easy, all-in-one desert day: per person, pickup included, with a fixed 30 minute quad session. The standalone quad bike is for riders who want a longer session or a specific bike, booked per quad bike, with the transfer or emailed meeting point arranged on top. A plain safari is the right call when no one wants to ride.

To book, or to ask which option fits your group, use the Safari Desert Dubai booking page, call +971 52 447 2719 or email [email protected] with your date, hotel and who is riding.

FAQ

Questions to ask before your desert adventure

How much is a desert safari with quad bike in Dubai?
At Safari Desert Dubai the shared Evening + 30 Min ATV combo costs AED 375 per adult aged 12 and over and AED 340 per child aged 5 to 11. The Morning + 30 Min ATV combo costs AED 290 per adult and AED 285 per child. Both prices are per person and hotel pickup is part of the booking.
Does a standalone quad bike ride include hotel pickup?
No. Every standalone quad bike price covers the bike, the guide, a helmet, goggles, gloves and refreshments or mineral water, but not pickup. You can add a sharing transfer at AED 175 per person, book a private car at AED 450 for 5 to 6 guests, or drive to the meeting point emailed after booking.
How long is the quad bike session in the safari combo?
The quad session inside both the morning and the evening combo lasts 30 minutes and cannot be extended within that booking. Riders who want 1 or 2 hours on a quad, or a particular model such as the Yamaha Raptor 700 CC, should book a standalone ride priced per quad bike instead.
Should I pick the morning or the evening quad combo?
Choose the evening version for a longer outing with dune bashing, a short camel ride and a BBQ dinner with belly dance, tanoura and fire shows, lasting about 5 to 6 hours. Choose the morning version for a Land Cruiser drive of about four hours with water and soft drinks, leaving the rest of the day open.
What should I wear for a quad bike ride in the Dubai desert?
Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you are happy to get sandy, and bring a passport or a national ID. Standalone rides come with a helmet, goggles and gloves, and every rider wears a helmet. The guide gives a safety briefing on driving the quad, the gear and emergencies before the ride starts.
Can children ride a quad bike on the safari?
Combo prices treat ages 5 to 11 as children, but that is a safari price band, so confirm with the team who will ride during the 30 minute session. On standalone bookings the Yamaha 90 CC quad is only for ages 9 to 12, and the Yamaha 220 CC is recommended for ages 14 to 17, both inside a fenced area.
What is the cancellation policy for a quad bike safari?
For bookings of up to 3 guests, cancelling 96 hours or more ahead carries no cancellation fee. Between 24 and 96 hours a 50% fee applies, and under 24 hours or a no-show costs 100%. Refunds are less a 5% processing fee. Larger groups follow different terms, and all changes are made by email.
